Tristan and Wyatt got married on May 30, 2026, at Schmidt Cattle Co. Events in Mead, Washington. As a Spokane documentary wedding photographer, I live for days like this one — 116 acres of open ranch land, Mt. Spokane on the horizon, and two people who were completely, genuinely themselves all day long.
How They Got Here
They met in college through a campus club. Wyatt was nervous to keep the conversation going, but he pushed through. I’d say it worked out.
They got engaged on a beach in Noordwijk, Holland — the coastal town where both of their families are from. Tristan’s sister was there to photograph and video the whole thing. That detail says a lot about who they are.
The Day Itself
They chose Schmidt Cattle Co. for its outdoor feel — the hillside ceremony area, the working ranch backdrop, the big sky. It suits them completely.
They came into the day a little nervous about being in front of the camera. That’s more common than you’d think — you can read more about it here. What they were most looking forward to was the first look and getting to dance with their favorite people. We got both.
The Barn
The hay barn at Schmidt Cattle Co. has a wagon wheel chandelier that stops people in their tracks. Oil lamps, antique details, two bars, and a dance floor that was absolutely packed by the end of the night. Every corner photographs beautifully. It’s the kind of venue that does a lot of the heavy lifting — and lets the couple just be present.
