Throughout my 7 years as a Wedding Photographer I’ve learned a thing or two that I wish I would have known when I was planning my wedding. If you’d like to learn tips & tricks, see real weddings, and sessions then this blog is for you! I hope this can be a tool for all my couples and anyone searching for wedding inspiration.
Peyton and Nick’s love story started right here in Spokane. They met at just 14 years old through a mutual friend, when Nick was the “new kid” joining public school. What began as a young connection quickly turned into something lasting. They’ve grown up side by side—laughing, supporting each other, and building a relationship grounded in shared values. Their deep friendship made this bond even stronger. As a photographer specializing in Spokane weddings, it was so special to document a couple whose relationship started in this city. Their story came full circle with a wedding here.
We kicked things off with Peyton and Nick’s first look and portraits at Manito Park, one of Spokane’s most iconic and beloved photo spots. It was the perfect spring day—calm, beautiful light, and just the right amount of fresh blooms. Manito’s natural beauty set the tone for portraits that felt easy and joyful. The way Peyton and Nick interacted, laughing and moving so naturally together, a joy for their Spokane wedding photographer. This made capturing their love feel effortless.
Their ceremony was held at Overbluff Cellars, a charming downtown venue they chose for its great light. It also had a relaxed vibe. While the couple doesn’t have a personal tie to the space, it was important to them to get married in Spokane. This is the city where their relationship began and where so many loved ones still live.
One of the most memorable parts of the ceremony was a surprise moment involving their cat, Rue. Two photos of Rue were secretly placed under guests’ chairs. During the ceremony, those seated in the lucky spots were named the official witnesses on the marriage license. It was playful, unique, and so perfectly them, just like their Spokane-based wedding theme.
Peyton and Nick weren’t concerned with following tradition for tradition’s sake. They planned a day that was true to them—relaxed, heartfelt, and full of intentional time with the people who matter most. That energy came through in every moment, from their emotional vows to the quiet in-between glances.
As a wedding photographer based in Spokane, these kinds of weddings are such a joy to document. They remind me that the most meaningful days aren’t about extravagance—they’re about creating space for connection. This happens in the context of a beautiful Spokane wedding.
Peyton and Nick’s Spokane wedding was the perfect reflection of their relationship: thoughtful, fun, and full of heart. Photographing their day at Manito Park and Overbluff Cellars was such a privilege. As their Spokane wedding photographer, I’m so excited for everything that’s ahead for them.
